Classic Slow Cooker Chili
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 2 medium onions, chopped (about 1 1/2 cups)
- 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped (about 1 cup)
- 2 large garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 (30oz) can SunVista® Chili Beans (do not drain)
- 2 (15oz) cans SunVista® Kidney Beans (drained, rinsed)
- 2 (14.5oz) cans diced tomatoes (do not drain)
- 1 (15oz) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin

Directions
In 12-inch skillet, cook beef, pork, onions, bell pepper and garlic over medium high heat 8 to 10 minutes or until meat is no longer pink, stirring to break up meat. Pour into 4 to 5-quart slow cooker. Mix in all remaining ingredients. Cover; cook on low heat setting 7 to 8 hours. Serve with favorite chili toppings.
Tips: If your family likes black beans, exchange one or both cans of Kidney Beans for Black Beans.
Serving Suggestion: This is a basic family-friendly chili. If your family likes more flavorful chili, increase the amounts of chili powder and cumin. You can also add a dash of hot sauce.
